One incredibly creative and efficient way to kill time, money, or both, is to have a BUILD v. BUY debate. BUILD is often associated with developing technology or capabilities internally, whereas, BUY often implies 'to outsource'.

The debate misses the point. Unless you are involved in a scam, PRODUCT is ALWAYS built.

AI is calling out the bluff on 'BUY' decisions. Unless one is precise enough with instructions or prompts, AI is not workable.

AI is, thus, exposing a dirty little secret - you simply don't outsource a business requirement. You DELEGATE it.

Ownership can not (and should not) ever be outsourced.

The 'build v. buy' debate is, thus, a poor oversimplification and misphrasing of the classic 'DIY-or-delegate' conundrum.

For you either do or do not - there is no 'try' - or 'try-and-outsource'.
