As elusive as the Dragon Ball Z legend of the 'Super Saiyan', there is, in the tech world, the legend of the 10x developer. While there is no standard definition for what is a 10x developer, and what their tech stack is, what is commonly agreed upon is that we know one when we see one. Since poetic characterizations do not do us a lot of good, I will attempt to provide a fair framework to characterize someone as such. In my opinion, a good (and fair) hypothesis would be that a 10x developer is one who goes 10x the distance, driven by a 10x obsession with utility-first design. Their tech stack choice of whether to use (also, when to use) PHP, JavaScript, Python, MySQL, or SQLite matters only to the extent it helps further the above objective. It is the same as defining a 'marathoner' or a 'salesman' - it is not a state that makes one as such, but the pursuit thereof.
